Fourth grade art students have been creating sculptures which depict sailboats on waves. The structures combine origami with measuring, cutting, and taping paper and plastic straws. The boats are mounted with glue and screws on wave structures composed of wadded paper, cardboard, and tape. A paper mache skin coats the boats and waves. Cotton represents the foam on the waves.
