During the spring, 7th grade Art Tech students (no During the spring, 7th grade Art Tech students (now rising 8th graders) made short music videos with the animal hand puppets they created. Yes, their puppets are wearing St. Peter Mass uniform shirts that the students sewed themselves! The students shot video outside the art room to use as backgrounds for the greenscreen technique. Reston Butcher shot video of a river to use as a background for the puppets. Students edited videos in the iMovie app on their school iPads. Wildcats love to read, and the Read with Me progra Wildcats love to read, and the Read with Me program is just one of many ways we foster a love of reading! During the school year, we love our weekly visits from Sophia, and her human, Dr. Bonnie Mani from East Carolina University. They are part of a national program, Pet Partners. The students in these pictures are in PreK, so they will get to look forward to visits to read with Sophia in their elementary school years. The students read, discuss, and share connections to their chosen books. Many books have dog themes. They give Sophia treats and learn how to approach and pet her. This program is all about the love and diversity of reading, and the motivation of reading more in our day. Many students have shown great improvement in their reading skills as a result. We are so grateful to @mani.bonniegail for her service! #spcs #HeartsLikeHis
