Fourth grade art students have made sculptures depicting sailboats on waves. This work combines origami with measuring, cutting, and taping paper and plastic straws. The boats are attached with glue and screws to waves made of wadded paper, cardboard, and tape. The boats and waves are covered with paper mache. Cotton has been shaped and glued to simulate foam on the waves.
