WHAT OUR WILDCATS ARE UP TO

Amazing progress on the new PreK building! #spcs # Amazing progress on the new PreK building! #spcs #HeistheWay
We're kicking off this Friday with a very BELATED We're kicking off this Friday with a very BELATED birthday wish to Mrs. Greenleaf, our fifth grade teacher assistant! Her birthday was last month, but she is worth celebrating any day of the year! Mrs. Greenleaf has gone over and above the duties of a teacher assistant, especially last year when the building had a flood and a colleague went on medical leave. While Mrs. Greenleaf has been a member of the faculty and staff for a few years now, her dedication to the school stretches back to when she was a parent at SPCS, and the chair of the Halloween Carnival. We love you, Mrs. Greenleaf! Happy belated birthday! #spcs #spcsbirthdays
Thank you to the many wonderful sponsors and indiv Thank you to the many wonderful sponsors and individuals who have already pledged their support for this year's Faith on Friday t-shirt! You can join this growing list that will be featured on the backs of the t-shirts students may wear to school on Fridays. More than 600 shirts were purchased in the 2025-2026 school year, and our sponsors gave a combined total of $40,500! Click the link to sponsor or email Mrs. Getz with any questions. #HeistheWay

Let's show some big birthday love for the one and Let's show some big birthday love for the one and only Mr. Keith! Mr. Keith has been running our cafeteria for several years, and you'll always find him with his mega-watt smile. His love for our students is so evident, and they love him right back! Mr. Keith is a huge part of our school family, and we are so very grateful to him for his incredible hard work, terrific sense of humor and willingness to go the extra mile. Happy Birthday, Mr. Keith! #spcs #spcsbirthdays
Thank you, Ms. Wilson, for five years of dedicated Thank you, Ms. Wilson, for five years of dedicated service to St. Peter. She has made a tremendous impact on our students!
Ms. Wilson will be serving in a more flexible, part-time role this school year, and she is handing the reins to Mrs. Christina Bolt, our new fifth grade teacher!
Mrs. Bolt has been in education for nearly 20 years after earning her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Winthrop University and her Masters in Elementary Education at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. Mrs. Bolt spent 15 years teaching 2nd, 4th and 5th grade, including grades two and four at Ridgewood Elementary School in Winterville. Most recently, she has been privately tutoring students of all ages.
“The relationships I build with my students inspire me every day,” Mrs. Bolt says. “I believe every child has unique strengths and the potential to succeed when they feel safe, valued, supported, and encouraged. Watching students feel comfortable enough to take risks, try hard things, overcome challenges, and gain confidence is one of my very favorite parts of teaching!”
Mrs. Bolt describes her teaching style as “ student-centered, engaging, and collaborative. I strive to create a fun and positive classroom environment where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, think critically, and take ownership of their learning. I focus on providing meaningful, hands-on and interactive learning experiences, opportunities to work both independently and collaboratively, and differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of my students while fostering curiosity, responsibility, and a growth mindset.”
Mrs. Bolt adds, “My hope is that each of my students will view school as a place they want to be every day, not somewhere they have to be.”
“I am so excited to join the St. Peter Catholic School family because of its commitment to academic excellence and providing students with opportunities to be the hands and feet of Jesus!” Bolt says. “It is a blessing to become part of a school where spirituality and service are built into everyday learning.”
Welcome to St. Peter, Mrs. Bolt!
Please join us in welcoming Ms. Michelle Hernandez Please join us in welcoming Ms. Michelle Hernandez, the new Kindergarten Teacher Assistant to Mrs. Eason at St. Peter Catholic School!

Ms. Hernandez is a proud alumna of John Paul II Catholic High School, graduating in 2019. She went on to earn her Associate’s degree in Birth-Kindergarten Childhood Education from Pitt Community College before transferring to East Carolina University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Family Community Services with a minor in Psychology.

Ms. Hernandez brings four years of experience as a toddler teacher at Children’s World Learning Center. Reflecting on her time there, she shares, “I have learned so much from there, and it’ll always hold a special place in my heart.”

Her passion for education is rooted in her love of helping others and supporting children as they grow. “I’ve always had a passion for helping others. I’m empathetic and patient. I love to see people thrive, especially my students,” Ms. Hernandez says. “It’s rewarding seeing how they slowly become independent and grow to love learning.”

When it comes to her teaching style, Ms. Hernandez believes in meeting each child where they are. “My teaching style is more of a hybrid. I like to blend styles in my teaching just because every child learns differently. I like to accommodate each child so that they can learn and grow.”

Ms. Hernandez is especially excited to return to the St. Peter Catholic School community. As a JP2 alumna, she completed her senior-year internship at St. Peter’s and remembers the strong sense of community she experienced here. “Whenever I came here, I could feel how strong the community was with all the events and especially the religious aspect of it,” she shares. “I want to grow within my faith and help others as well.”

We are thrilled to welcome Ms. Hernandez to the St. Peter Catholic School faculty and look forward to all the ways she will support our youngest learners as they learn, grow, and flourish! Welcome to St. Peter’s, Ms. Hernandez!
