7th grade Art Tech students created animal hand puppets which have been starring in their short music videos. The puppets were made with paper, cloth, cardboard, tape, wire, paint, adhesive googly eyes, yarn, and paper mache. Students made mass uniform shirts for their creations. The boy animals have ties. Students shot video of their puppets against green screens. They shot video outside the art room to use as backgrounds for the greenscreen technique. Students edited videos in the iMovie app on iPads, and employed iMovie soundtracks. The image shown above is a still photo from a video by Catherine Hawley. Her hammerhead shark puppet is shown in front of an aquarium background that she filmed at a local pet store.
5th grade art students have been using the Tinkercad computer-aided design (CAD) app on their Chromebooks to develop houses in landscapes. Students’ designs include the surreal addition of gigantic flowers.
