Fifth grade art students have recently created relief sculptures of aquatic creatures. Students used the grid method to draw from photos of sea animals. They transferred their drawings to Styrofoam sheets and cut out their designs with saws. The volume of each animal form was built up on one side of the Styrofoam with paper and tape. Paper mache and glitter glue were applied as the skin.
